Agreement & Privacy Policy

INTRODUCTION

Each new client to my practice is a welcome addition. In order to bring our “best selves” to the professional relationship, it is important that we share the same understanding about how we will work together.  Please read the following information below as it will be helpful to read before our consultation. This information can also be found in the Coaching Agreement that you will be provided with prior to our first session.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

The services provided by Brandy Kurtz (Productivity Coach & Professional Organizer), include coaching and organizing on topics/areas/goals/agendas decided by you (client). The purpose of coaching is to develop and implement strategies to help you reach personally identified goals of enhanced performance and personal satisfaction. Coaching may address specific personal projects, life balance, job performance and satisfaction, or general conditions in your life, business, or profession. Coaching utilizes personal strategic planning, values clarification, brainstorming, motivational interviewing, and other counseling, coaching and consulting techniques.

Life coaching is not therapy, and Brandy is not a therapist. A life coach does not diagnose or treat disorders. Life coaching may be effective either as a precursor, complement, or follow-up to therapy.  If you are currently in therapy, you are strongly encouraged to inform your therapist that you are also engaged in coaching, to help ensure that their work with you is mutually supportive toward your goals. If you are not in therapy, it is possible, depending on individual circumstances, that your coach may recommend at some point that you consult with an appropriate mental-health professional before continuing with further coaching services.

COACHING SCHEDULE & FEES FOR SERVICES

  • During the initial consultation, we will determine the start date, session length and schedule of our sessions.
  • The initial (20 Min.) consultation will be provided at no cost to the client.
  • Fees are payable in advance each month.
  • Reimbursement of fees paid in advance will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Payments should be made via PayPal to brandykurtz@gmail.com unless otherwise arranged.
  • When sessions noted above have been completed, the client and coach will renegotiate a rate/package.

CONFIDENTIALITY

The conversations that we have within our coaching & organizing sessions are confidential and will be protected as such. This relationship, as well as all information (documented or verbal) that the Client shares with the Coach as part of this relationship, is bound to confidentiality by the ICF – International Coach Federation and NAPO – National Association of Professional Organizers Code of Ethics but is not considered a legally confidential relationship (like in Medicine or Law). The Coach agrees not to disclose any information pertaining to the Client without the Client’s written consent.  Information will be shared outside of our sessions only with your written consent or in the event that the law demands it, however, the following are instances where I may be obligated by law to break our confidentiality agreement without your permission.

In keeping with the requirements of coach credentialing by the ICF – International Coach Federation and Professional Organizer Credentialing by the NAPO – National Organization for Professional Organizers, Brandy Kurtz and Your Life: Unbound – Coaching and Consulting, LLC will be keeping a confidential record of your name, mailing address, phone number, email address and number of service hours. This information will be used exclusively for the purposes of meeting those requirements.

COACH RESPONSIBILITIES

Make scheduled calls and appointments on time.
Commit to the principles of accountability, honesty and respect.
Follow ICF and NAPO Code of Ethics
Come to the session present and ready to participate in the coaching process.
Support the Client in assessing his/her motivation for change
Support the Client in defining and clarifying specific action steps
Ask questions to assess the level of the Client’s commitment to the action steps
Track the Client’s progress
Discuss options and possibilities while the Client does the work
Respect the Client’s willingness to be truthful and keeps all information strictly confidential
DOES NOT process dilemmas, resolve interpersonal disputes or weigh the pros and cons of a client’s decision.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Make scheduled calls and appointments on time.
Commit to the principles of accountability, honesty and respect.
Come to the session present and ready to participate in the coaching process.
Lead the session and set the agenda for each session
Asks for what they want and lets the coach know what is working and not working in the coaching relationship.
Define, clarify and commit to specific action steps.
Takes responsibility for actions and personal well-being.
Makes payments on time as agreed upon.

CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS

Both the coach and client agree to inform one another with a 24 hour cancellation notice via (phone or email) if at all possible. If a client or coach is unable to provide 24 Hours notice, they will be subject to a pre-determined fee. If the coach is a “No-Call / No-Show” the session/appointment fee will be refunded and the next session/appointment (of equivalent length) will be free. If the client is a “No-Call / No-Show” there will be no refund for the missed time.  I do understand that we are all humans with real lives and emergencies do happen.  Emergency situations will be considered on a case by case basis.
